We all have a story… right?

Something that drives us to shut doors. Open new ones. Burn the ships. Build new ones. Barbarian was built on the backbone of perseverance with a direct and intentional focus on improving mental health for myself. I was fighting pain from many corners of my life and needing an outlet. The gym became that outlet, and I never looked back. I actually created Barbarian as a “passion project” for myself; something to wear and stay motivated in the gym. I never thought it would become a vessel to inspire others.

Weight training started as an outlet for stress and pain, but quickly became a passion. I felt happier. My mind was clearer. I was sleeping better. I was building strength but, most importantly, I was building confidence.

The good kind of pressure.

I originally built the Barbarian brand for myself because, well, it’s in my nature to think about branding & design, which is why I’ve been doing it for 20 years! After designing various pump covers to wear to the gym, I had a continual flow of fellow lifters asking me where I “got my shirts!” In just a few months, a tipping point was reached, and I decided to pull the trigger on taking Barbarian to market. To really solidify purpose behind the brand and after months of research, we also went into full product development of premium patch hats, branded lifting gear, and other accessories.

We’re proud to bring Barbarian to the masses with a mission of building a community of REAL people who face REAL life challenges and look to a brand (and network) to help keep their minds strong when they feel weak. We’re here to promote gym positivity (thank you Joey Swoll!), leadership, and good vibes.

Demand turned Barbarian from a few shirt designs into a growing, respected brand and that’s the kind of pressure that turns dreams into reality and goals into outcomes. Thank you for your interest and support; this is just the beginning.
